Direct Intelligence Ltd - our commitment, current position and how to report a problem - Version 1.0 - September 2026

Section 01

Our Commitment

This platform exists to make institutional information clear and usable. That aim is not met if some people cannot read it. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site, whatever assistive technology they rely on, and we treat accessibility problems as defects rather than requests.

Section 02

Current Status

Conformance not yet assessed

We have not yet carried out a formal accessibility audit of this site, so we do not currently claim conformance with any level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. An audit is planned. We would rather say that plainly than publish a conformance claim we cannot evidence.

When that assessment is complete, this statement will be updated to record the standard tested against, the date of the assessment, the result, and any parts of the site that do not meet it.

Section 03

Measures In Place

The following are built into how the site is made, though none has yet been formally verified:

  • -Semantic HTML, so headings, lists, tables and landmarks convey structure to screen readers rather than relying on visual styling alone.
  • -Text that resizes with browser and operating system settings rather than being fixed in place.
  • -Responsive layouts that reflow down to small screens and high zoom levels without content being lost.
  • -Descriptive text alternatives on meaningful images.
  • -Keyboard-operable navigation and forms, including visible focus states.
  • -Form fields with associated labels rather than placeholder text alone.
Section 04

Known Limitations

We know of the following areas that are most likely to present difficulty, and they are the first things the planned audit will examine:

  • -Colour contrast has not been systematically measured across the site. Some smaller text set in mid-grey on white, and some text on dark backgrounds, may fall below the recommended contrast ratio.
  • -Some data is presented in wide tables, which can be harder to follow on narrow screens and with a screen reader.
  • -Small type is used for captions, metadata and footnotes in places, which may be difficult to read without zooming.
  • -The site has not been tested end to end with screen readers or with speech recognition software.
Section 05

Reporting a Problem

If you find something on this site you cannot access, please tell us. Email enquiries@directintelligence.co.uk with the page address and a short description of what went wrong and what you were using, for example the browser and any assistive technology. We aim to respond within five working days.

If you need something published here in a different format, ask and we will do what we reasonably can to provide it.

Section 06

Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Equality Act 2010. If you are unhappy with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, which provides free advice.
