How a Mandate Works

The Four Stages

Every DI engagement follows four stages. The stages are the practical application of the DIRECT framework to a specific mandate.

Stage 1 — Entry

All engagement begins through the Briefing Gate. DI assesses sector fit, mandate scope and institutional context before any engagement begins.

Stage 2 — Decision Diagnostic

The entry product for most mandates. A structured VECTOR engagement mapping decision risk and mandate readiness.

Stage 3 — Mandate Architecture

Relevant DIRECT layers and service pillars are activated based on the diagnostic. Scope is defined. Work begins.

Stage 4 — Active Engagement

Retained or project basis. The mandate runs from the agreed scope. DI does not re-pitch or re-scope without client instruction.

Institutional Credentials

Seven ISO Certifications

Direct Intelligence holds seven ISO certifications. Each reflects the governance standard DI holds itself to and advises clients on.

  • ISO 9001Quality Management Systems
  • ISO 14001Environmental Management Systems
  • ISO 22301Business Continuity Management Systems
  • ISO 27001Information Security Management Systems

Competency Scope

A Selection of the Competency Domains

DI's competency scope spans 15 domains today and grows as the practice does — some aligned to a named pillar, others operating across the whole architecture through the DIRECT framework. A selection is shown below; the full framework is published on the Competences page.
